Astrodyne TDI Expands High Power Density Medical-Grade Power Supply Series with the Launch of the ASM1200

July 2, 2025 – Hackettstown, NJ – Astrodyne TDI, a global leader in power conversion and EMI/EMC solutions, proudly announces the release of the ASM1200, the newest and most powerful model in its ASM series of high-density medical-grade power supplies. Delivering up to 1200 Watts of output power, the ASM1200 is designed to meet the growing power demands of next-generation medical and industrial equipment while maintaining a compact 1U profile for seamless system integration.

The ASM1200 builds on the success of the ASM1000 by offering 200 additional watts of power with the same space-saving footprint. It features universal AC input (80-264VAC) and DC input (120-370VDC), as well as output voltage options ranging from 15V to 56VDC, making it an ideal solution for high-power, space-constrained applications.

Designed for compliance and performance, the ASM1200 meets IEC60601-1 3rd Edition medical safety standards with 2xMOPP isolation. It is BF-rated with leakage currents less than 100µA, ensuring safe operation in patient-connected medical devices. It is also certified to EN 60601-1-2 4th Edition EMC standards, featuring low conducted and radiated emissions (Class B) and high immunity to ESD, surge, and conducted disturbances.

Key Features of the ASM1200:

  • Up to 1200W output power in a compact 1U (1.6” height) chassis

  • Universal input voltage: 80-264VAC / 120-370VDC

  • High efficiency up to 92%

  • Low leakage current <100µA (BF compliant)

  • 2xMOPP isolation for patient safety

  • Medical EMC compliance: EN 60601-1-2 4th Edition

  • Output voltages: 15V, 18V, 24V, 28V, 36V, 48V, 56V

  • Operating temperature: -40°C to +55°C at full load, up to +70°C with derating

  • Remote sense, power good, output enable

  • Variable speed dual-fan cooling for reduced acoustic noise at low loads

  • Robust protection features: OVP, OCP, OTP, SCP

  • Size: 7.5” x 5.0” x 1.6” (190.5 x 127 x 40.64 mm)

Versatile Applications Across Medical and Industrial Markets

The ASM1200 is engineered for a wide range of critical-use applications where power density, reliability, and safety are paramount. It is well-suited for:

  • Surgical and operating room equipment

  • Patient monitoring systems

  • Medical imaging platforms

  • Laboratory instrumentation

  • Portable and cart-based medical devices

  • Industrial automation systems

  • Test and measurement equipment

The ASM1200 was developed in direct response to the increasing power requirements in compact medical systems.  We’ve engineered a solution that not only delivers more power in the same space but does so with the performance, protection, and compliance our medical customers demand.
