Astrodyne TDI is proud to announce the release of the RP285 Single-Phase PLC Filters, a brand-new addition to our industry-leading line of EMI and RFI filtering solutions. Engineered specifically for power line carrier (PLC) communication systems, the RP285 filters prevent disruptive noise from corrupting digital signals - ensuring accurate, secure, and uninterrupted communication/data transfer between industrial equipment.
Power line carrier communication allows data to travel directly over power line conductors between two process or assembly stations. However, without proper filtering, the communication signals can travel past the modems at either end and infiltrate nearby electronic systems, acting as noise, thereby impacting equipment performance and disrupting the process.
The RP285 filter is placed directly after PLC modems to create a clean, isolated transmission path, ensuring that signals stay contained between communicating modems. By blocking both inbound electrical noise and outbound communication signals, the filter protects sensitive electronics while also ensuring clean transmission and receiving of PLC data - maintaining system reliability and operational continuity.
Furthermore, these filters provide a very high differential mode insertion loss performance, making them highly effective for any application requiring differential mode insertion loss from 10kHz to high MHz frequencies.
