Key Features of Modern PDUs

Modern PDUs come equipped with a variety of features designed to enhance their functionality and reliability. One of the primary features is the ability to provide multiple output voltages, both AC and DC, from a single source. This versatility ensures that different components within a system receive the appropriate power they need.

Additionally, modern PDUs offer configurations for different outlet types such as NEMA, IEC, and Shuko connectors. This adaptability ensures compatibility with a wide range of devices and applications. Surge protection for each output is another critical feature, safeguarding connected equipment from power spikes and surges.

Electrical Protection Mechanisms in PDUs

Electrical protection is a cornerstone of modern PDUs. These units are designed to protect downstream equipment from electrical surges, which can cause significant damage. The inclusion of surge protection for each output ensures that any fluctuations in power are managed effectively, preventing potential harm to sensitive equipment.

Moreover, PDUs often include circuit breakers and fuses as additional layers of protection. These mechanisms are crucial for preventing overloads and short circuits, thereby enhancing the overall safety and reliability of the system.
