Presenting the RP395 EMI Filter: Now You can Boost the Voltage and Performance!

RP395In today’s world, the increasing power demand has posed serious challenges for the power conversion industry. More power typically means higher current, which results in higher costs (more copper) and higher power (I2R) losses, often making designs unviable. One way to resolve this conundrum is to boost the input AC voltage (760 – 1000AC), thus delivering the same amount of power without significantly impacting power losses.

The RP395 3-phase delta 1000 VAC EMI power line filter is designed to support the new generation of power conversion systems utilizing high-voltage AC. The filter series supports rated currents ranging from 150A to 2500A, offering OEMs adaptability for different power levels and delivering superior insertion loss performance against electromagnetic interference. To make things more exciting, the 3500A design is near completion and will be released soon.

These filters are designed to operate at 1000 VAC nominal voltage, with a +10% tolerance (max). The 1000VAC limit ensures that the system still falls within the scope of the LV (low voltage) safety directive and doesn’t need to comply with more onerous medium voltage safety requirements. This filter features connection options of wires (-W), studs (-S), connectors (-C), and bus bars (-B), to facilitate seamless system integration. These filters are certified to UL 60939, CSA C22.2 #8, and EN 60939 standards for global safety compliance.RP395 (2)

The end user selects the Y-cap values from the get-go to help optimize attenuation performance and leakage current. The RP395 is designed to function at both 50Hz and 60Hz, making it suitable for global systems. In addition to standard frequencies, it can operate effectively from DC to 400 Hz, enabling its use in specialized applications and increasing its versatility (for > 60Hz applications, please contact our product/application support).

The filter can operate at full rate current in ambient temperatures ranging from -25°C to +50°C and can endure conditions from -25°C to 100°C with 21% humidity. The weight varies between 14.0 and 39.0 pounds (6.7 to 17.7 kg) based on the model.
