Introducing the RP692A –High Voltage with Enhanced Performance!
Hackettstown, NJ - November 2024 - The never-ending increase in demand for power has been challenging the power conversion industry. With more power comes higher costs (more copper) and higher power (I2R) losses, which can often make designs unviable. One of the ways to solve the enigma is to boost the voltage, thereby delivering the same amount of power without significantly impacting the cost and power losses. To this end, Astrodyne TDI had earlier introduced a compact filter series (RP695) rated for 1500VDC. However, with more power comes more noise which generated a need for higher attenuation 1500VDC filters, and we heard…
Introducing the new RP692A, a high voltage current DC power line filter for exceptional attenuation performance and reliability in demanding environments. The RP692A series handles voltages up to 1500 VDC, with a +10% tolerance to accommodating voltage fluctuations safely. The 1500VDC limit ensures that the system still falls within the scope of LV (low voltage) safety directive and doesn’t need to comply with more demanding medium voltage safety requirements.
The RP692A series supports rated currents from 25A to 2500A, making it versatile for various applications. These filters feature connection options of wires (-W), studs (-S), connectors (-C), bus bars (-B), and selectable Y-cap options (for specific needs) to facilitate seamless system integration while providing excellent noise suppression characteristics. These filters are certified to UL 60939, CSA C22.2 #8, and EN 60939 standards for global safety compliance.
These filters can operate at full rate current in ambient temperatures ranging from -25°C to +50°C and can endure conditions from -25°C to 100°C with 21% humidity giving them an operating temperature range of -25C to 100C. Each filter is hi-pot tested to 4700 VDC, ensuring critical reliability in high-voltage applications. The RP692A filter weighs between 3.0 pounds (1.3 kg) and 60.0 pounds (27.21 kg), allowing for easy handling and installation.
RP692A EMI filters are ideally suited for:
- Energy Storage Systems (ESS/BSS)
- Hydrogen Generation / Electrolyzer
- High-current rectifiers
- High power inverters
- DC fast chargers
- Megawatt chargers
- Solar inverters
